 Core  2  Duo  E8400  @  3.0Ghz
 4GB  DDR2  RAM
 ATI  Radeon  HD  4850
 Windows  XP  SP3

I'm  currently  running  at  1280  x  1024  on  "high"  settings.   I  was  running  at  1680  x  1050  and  may  go  back  to  this  since  I  am  not  seeing  much  performance  improvement  at  the  lower  resolution.

FRAPS  indicate  between  about  35  FPS  to  70  FPS.

I  haven't  gone  Crossfire  yet  with  the  other  4850  I  just  bought.   I  need  to  re-apply  some  thermal  grease  to  my  CPU  and  heatsink  first  -  my  CPU  temps  are  idling  at  abut  49C  and  that's  a  tad  bit  too  warm  for  my  liking,  especially  since  the  2nd  4850  will  certainly  add  more  heat  to  the  case.

 Core  i7  920  @  stock  2.67GHz
 6GBs  DDR3  Corsair  Dominator  RAM
 Radeon  5870  1GB  GDDR5
 2x  150GB  WD  Raptors  in  RAID  0
 Sound  Blaster  X-FI  Titanium
 Win  7  Pro  64Bit

Running  at  high  settings  @  1680  X  1050,  so  I  can  hunt  Canadian  Bacon  lol.  The  only  problem  I  had  was  some  weird  artifacting  in  the  form  on  black  squares  randomly  popping  up  while  in  game.  I  solved  this  by  turning  the  effects  down  to  low,  but  can  keep  everything  else  at  high.  Other  then  that  I  haven't  had  any  issues  with  lag.

I've  heard  that  2x  4850s  in  a  crossfire  setup  are  supposed  to  be  pretty  good  setup,  and  the  cards  are  relatively  inexpensive.

Oh,  and  if  anyone  is  interested,  I  have  the  following  parts  that  need  a  good  home:  1x  9800GTX+  512MB  GDDR3  PCI  Express,  1x  ATI  Radeon  X850XT  PE  256MB  GDDR3  AGP  and  2x  1GB  DDR1  400  Corsair  XMS  Pro  RAM.  These  are  all  left  over  from  past  upgrades,  and  all  work  fine.  PM/yell  at  me  in  Vent  if  interested.

 4G  Corsair  Dominator
 Radeon  Vapor  series  5750  1G
 Creative  X-Fi   soundcard
 Acer  H233H  23"  Wide
 Runing  at  1920x1080
Running  between  high  and  medium  settings
 Getting  30-70  fps

With  a  coolermaster  310  elite  case  and  stock  cooling  I  find  the  temps  after  an  average  gaming  session  to  average  50-60  on  the  CPU  and  45-55  on  the  GPU.   They  both  cool  down  very  quickly  though.

also,  since  everything  else  is  in  here,  I  use  a  logitech  k300  compact  Keyboard,  and  a  Logitech  MX  revolution  mouse.   I  used  to  have  a  $10  pair  of  headphones/mic  that  worked  surprisingly  well,  but  the  left  ear  started  to  go,  so  now  I  have  a  set  of  refurbished  Logitech  Clearchat  (i  think)

Runs  outstandingly  well  considering  it  chugged  a  bit  in  the  Beta.  Picking  up  a  quad  core  965  chip  here  soon,  they're  under  $200  at  Tiger  Direct.

Yeah  Trash,  that  does  sound  kinda  cheap  -  sounds  like  you  got  a  great  deal.

Just  out  of  curiosity,  are  you  using  one  or  two  crossfire  bridges?

I  didn't  half  to  pay  for  the  memory  a  friend  gave  it  to  me.  I  did  not  ask  where  he  got  it  from,  probably  don't  want  to  know.  I  was  also  wrong  about  the  brand  the  memory  is  Corsair  I  have  never  heard  of  it  but  it  works.  On  the  graphics  card  I  only  have  one  cross  fire  bridge  on.  I  do  have  the  cable  type  thing  to  hook  up  another  one  but  did  not  know  if  it  makes  a  different  there  is  a  spot  on  the  cards,  but  I  thought  it  was  to  set  up  a  third  card  if  wanted.  Catalyst  control  center  says  everything  is  working.

You  can  only  use  one  bridge  in  crossfire  conected  to  the  front  connector.

 Processor:
Intel(R)  Core(TM)2  Quad  CPU  Q6600  @  2.40GHz  (4  CPUs)  **(i7  quads  are  only  marginal  improvement  atm  you  could  buy  one  of  these  cheap)**

 Memory:
 2814MB  RAM  (Corsair  XMS  DDR2)

 Hard  Drive:
74  GB  WD  Raptors  *(10k  rpm  drives  prbly  not  really  necessary  just  helps  load  times)*

 Video  Card:
NVIDIA  GeForce  8800  GTX  **(better  than  the  entire  9xxx  series  2xx  series  is  a  direct  upgrade)**

 Monitor:
 Samsung  2ms  SyncMaster  226BW,SyncMaster  Magic  CX226BW(Digital)

getting  bout  ~110  FPS  all  high  if  i  was  running  windows  7  i  would  recomend  a  2xx  series  nVidia  over  the  8800GTX  for  better  preformance  on  DX10/11  but  if  youre  cheap  like  me  and  staying  with  XP/DX9c  for  least  another  yearish  you  prbly  could  find  a  8800GTS  or  GTX  for  cheap  as  well...

CPU:  AMD  Athlon  64  X2  5000+  @2.4  Ghz,  not  overclocked
 Mobo:  Asus  M2N-E  Socket  AM2  Non-SLI
PSU:  Thermaltake  Tough  Power  700  W  ,  The  "official"  PSU  of  the  07  World  Cyber  Games,  ha  ha  ha.  More  like  the  "official"  replacement  one  after  I  RMA'd  the  pure  power  600.  Good  warranty  though.  I'd  like  to  get  a  ?PC  Power  and  Cooling  next  time  out.  Any  thought  on  that?  Any  ways,  this  was  laying  in  my  basement  and  took  the  place  of  an  Antec  550  modular,  just  needed  a  reason  to  do  it.
 RAM:  6  Gigs  of  Corsair  XMS2  DDR2  800  Mhz.  2  @  2  Gigs,  2  @  1  Gig.  I  thought  I  had  2  open  slots,  which  would  have  brought  it  to  8  total,  but  I  ****  up  ordering.  I  have  2  extra  1  Gig  sticks.  (Corsair  XMS2  DDR2@  800Mhz  Latency  5-5-5-12)  I'll  almost  give  away.  PM  me.
GPU:  BFG  285  GTX  OC,  1  Gig,  512  bit  interface.  This  thing  is  ****  huge!  10.5  inches  long!  takes  up  2  slots.  I  had  a  BFG  8600  GT  OC  512,  so  this  thing  is  just  a  lil  bit  bigger.
OS:  Windows  7  Ultimate.  Upgrading  to  this  from  XP  Pro  X64  was  the  best  ?$174  I've  ever  spent,  almost.  ?My  Itunes  works,  my  Iphone  syncs.  I  don't  get  the  random  windows  sound  for  a  usb  device  disconnecting,  when  there  isn't  one  disconnecting.  I  have  DX  10,  I'm  a  big  fan.  I  imagine  this  is  what  they  wanted  Vista  to  be.
Mouse:  Razer  Lachesis  corded.  I  had  a  Copperhead  that  worked  great  about  2  years  till  I  had  to  start  cleaning  the  left  side  contact  every  2  months.I  did  that  for  2  more  years.  Calm,  do  you  have  that  link  for  the  true  mouse  DPI,  MHZ  etc?
Keybord:  $12  Microsoft  Serial.I'm  built  to  spill.  I  want  to  get  the  new  Nostromo, the  one  with  the  fancy  blue  backlights.  I  have  one  of  the  original  n52's  but  I  wore  the  F$%K  out  of  that  on  Karkand.
Mouse  Pad:  Wearever  16x14  Teflon  Coated  Baking  sheet.  Free  from  my  basement.  Originally  $12.99.  Attached  with  3M  velcro.(The  good  shit  you  get  with  your  EZ-pass.)  Big  and  Fast.  You  can  get  one  @  Target,  dunno  if  it's  Teflon  or  not.  Still  $12.99.
Sound:  I  use  the  on-board  sound  with  digital  out  to  my  receiver.  I  have  JBL  studio  monitors  and  an  Infinity  sub.  I  use  a  POS  logitech  something  or  another  held  together  with  the  free  return  address  labels  you  get,  sent  as  my  headset.

The  skinny:  1280x1024  @  60  Hz(  Hertz  on  digital  monitors  is  a  made  up  ambiguous  number.  Hz  is  analog.)
30-65  fps   during  game  play,  AA  and  AA  on  4,  HBAO  on,  the  rest  on  medium.  I  really  need  to  tweak  this  rig  a  bit  more,  but  I'm  very  pleased  at  this  point.

 Have  fun,
 Ducko
